t’s funny how certain records are born.

Ray Roc — a longtime friend and collaborator of David Anthony — was on the phone with David discussing potential songs that could be revamped for a project with Latin Grammy–nominated artist Magic Juan. During the conversation, David began describing a record he had in mind. He didn’t know the title — he just hummed the melody and explained the vibe.

Almost instantly, Ray replied:
“That’s Salsa House by Richie Rich.”

David was stunned. Not only did Ray recognize the record immediately, but he knew the title and the original artist off the top of his head. That’s Ray Roc — his record knowledge runs deep. No matter how obscure the release, he remembers it. Crazy like that.

The original Salsa House is a niche classic — an East Coast house record that never fully crossed over but lived heavy in certain circles. A lot of people don’t know it, but those who do really know it.

Fast forward to now.

Inspired by that moment, David decided to remake Salsa House together with Ray Roc. What started as a casual conversation turned into a full-fledged project — and now a planned release for early 2026.

This marks the first official artist collaboration between Ray Roc and David Anthony. While they’ve worked together on countless records over the years, this is the first time both artists will be credited as lead artists on a release. In the past, their collaborations often found them behind the scenes as writers or producers.

Previously, they released music under the name Roc & Soul, most notably their remix of Me & U by Cassie Ventura.

The upcoming Salsa House remake will include instrumental and club mixes, keeping DJs firmly in mind.
